Reliability snapshot
The third-generation Tiguan is a pure-reuse model in this contour: its 1.5 TSI EVO, the fourth-generation EA888 "evo4" 2.0 TSI, and the 2.0 TDI were all first documented on Golf and Arteon pages, and no new pattern is authored here. Being the newest generation in this contour, it is also the one with the shortest real-world ownership history — the patterns that apply are inherited from its engines' earlier applications rather than from any fault reports specific to this bodyshell yet. Built as both a standard-wheelbase and a stretched long-wheelbase SUV depending on market, the third Tiguan paired its engines with the DQ200 and DQ381 dual-clutch DSGs. China, the EU and Russia all received meaningful allocations at launch. No facelift has yet been applied to this current-generation model. As with every reuse page in this contour, checking a third-generation Tiguan means reading the entries for its specific engine on the Golf or Arteon page that first documented it — nothing here has been independently verified, and given how new this generation is, community-reported patterns specific to it may simply not exist yet.
