Reliability snapshot
The four-door coupé built on the Passat platform first-owns the 3.6-litre VR6 FSI in this contour: its rear-mounted timing-chain tensioner wear, intake-valve carbon build-up from direct injection, and a high-pressure fuel pump prone to wear are the patterns unique to this page, and any used VR6 CC deserves a careful listen for chain rattle at cold start. The shared 1.8 and 2.0 TSI and the 2.0 TDI carried over from earlier Passat and Golf pages apply equally here for the four-cylinder versions. Sold in a single, distinctive four-door coupé body style throughout its run, the CC paired its engines with a 6-speed manual or the DQ200/DQ250 dual-clutch DSGs; 4MOTION all-wheel drive was available on the VR6 alongside front-wheel drive on the four-cylinder range. China, the EU, North America and Russia all received meaningful volumes, with the four-cylinder TSI as the mainstream choice and the VR6 as a smaller-volume flagship. A mid-cycle facelift updated the styling and, in the second phase, the model name to Volkswagen CC without changing the mechanical range fundamentally. None of this has been checked against factory documentation — treat it as orientation for an inspection of a specific car, not a rating of the model as a whole.
