Peugeot 3008 T84
The first-generation Peugeot 3008 (T84) is a five-door compact crossover SUV built from 2009 to 2016. Petrol power comes from the naturally aspirated 1.6 VTi 120 and the turbocharged direct-injection 1.6 THP 150, both from the Prince family shared with the 308. Diesels run from the 1.6 HDi 110 through a 2.0 HDi in 150 and later 163 hp forms (DW10CTED4), with manual and automated-manual gearboxes depending on engine. The range documented here is front-wheel drive.
On the 1.6 THP 150, the turbocharging system's hoses and connections are worth a specific look: inspect the turbo-to-intercooler and intercooler-to-throttle pipework and their clips for cracking, looseness or oil staining, and listen for a hiss or a flat spot under load on a test drive. The naturally aspirated 1.6 VTi follows the same timing-drive listening check as the wider Prince family. On the 2.0 HDi, apply the same warm-idle listening check used across the DW10CTED4 range for the inter-camshaft chain, distinct from the main timing drive.
To judge a specific car, get a full fault-code read across all control units and keep the printout. Confirm from the documents that you are looking at the 3008 and not its 5008 sibling, since they share engines but differ in body and seating. Finally, have a franchised dealer run the VIN to check for any open manufacturer actions.
