Overview
Local preview — inspection orientation

The second-generation Transit Connect (2013-2022) was built at Almussafes, Spain; no evidence of Russian-market local assembly was found, and it was explicitly excluded from Ford Sollers' 2019 Elabuga restructuring that kept only the full-size Transit.

Its 1.0 EcoBoost engine carries the same documented cylinder-head coolant-intrusion risk confirmed on other Fox-family applications, and this exact van/engine/transmission combination is separately named in a real UK DVSA recall for clutch-pressure-plate fracture on manual-gearbox EcoBoost vans built August 2012 to June 2016; the 1.5 EcoBlue diesel introduced in the 2018 facelift needs its own service-history check.

Assessing an individual example means confirming engine, gearbox and build date from the documents and VIN before applying either check.

Filtered: ECOBOOST-1.0-FOX · 1.0 EcoBoost (Fox).

Pre-purchase checklist

Diagnostics
  • Pressure-test the cooling system and check for a slow pressure drop with no visible external leak; pull the dipstick and filler cap and check for a milky emulsion; a workshop can confirm with a UV-dye coolant trace or a borescope inspection of the cylinder head for micro-cracks
Documents
  • For a 1.0 EcoBoost manual van built Aug2012-Jun2016, check the DVSA recall status by VIN for the clutch-pressure-plate campaign (R/2018/194)
