Overview
Local preview — inspection orientation

The second-generation Puma (2019-present) was never sold new in Russia, launching in Europe the same year Ford exited Russian passenger-car sales and manufacturing.

Its mainstream 1.0 EcoBoost engine carries the same documented cylinder-head coolant-intrusion risk confirmed on other Fox-family applications, so the cooling-system pressure test and oil-contamination check apply; the ST's 1.5 EcoBoost (Dragon family) is a different physical engine with no such evidence yet confirmed.

Assessing an individual example means confirming which of the two engines it carries from its documents and VIN before applying either inspection route.

Filtered: ECOBOOST-1.0-FOX · 1.0 EcoBoost (Fox).

Pre-purchase checklist

Campaign check
  • Check this specific car's DVSA recall status by VIN for the airbag retention-spring campaign (R/2020/045) and confirm the replacement spring has been fitted
Diagnostics
  • Pressure-test the cooling system and check for a slow pressure drop with no visible external leak; pull the dipstick and filler cap and check for a milky emulsion; a workshop can confirm with a UV-dye coolant trace or a borescope inspection of the cylinder head for micro-cracks
Documents
  • Confirm from the registration document whether this is a mainstream 1.0 EcoBoost car or the ST performance variant with the 1.5 EcoBoost — they need different checks
