Overview
Local preview — inspection orientation

The third-generation Focus (2011-2018) was sold in two materially different configurations: a EU-market car built around the 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol and 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel, and a Russia-market car assembled by Ford Sollers at Vsevolozhsk, which ran the older 1.6-litre Duratec Ti-VCT until a July 2015 relaunch introduced a market-adapted 1.5-litre EcoBoost.

The inspection route differs by engine family: a 1.0 EcoBoost car needs a cooling-system pressure test and an oil/coolant contamination check for the documented head micro-crack issue, while a 2.0 TDCi diesel or a Vsevolozhsk-built 1.6 Ti-VCT car needs its own engine-specific service history rather than the EcoBoost checks.

Assessing an individual example means matching its engine and market spec exactly against its documents and VIN before applying any inspection route, since the Mk3's EU and RU lineups do not share a single common powertrain across the generation's full production run.

Campaign check
  • Check this specific car's DVSA recall status by VIN for campaign R/2018/008 and confirm whether the official remedy — engine/cooling-system inspection, replacement of affected components, and fitting a Coolant Level Sensor with warning software — has already been applied
