Overview
Local preview — inspection orientation

The seventh-generation Fiesta (2017-2023) was built at Cologne and sold across the EU market; the three-door body and panel van derivative were both discontinued in 2022, a year before the model itself.

Its 1.0 EcoBoost engine carries the same documented coolant-intrusion risk found on other Fox-family applications, so the cooling-system pressure test and oil-contamination check are the relevant route; a 1.5 TDCi diesel car instead needs its own service-history check.

Assessing an individual example means confirming engine, body style and production year against the documents and VIN before choosing which of these two inspection routes applies.

Filtered: ECOBOOST-1.0-FOX · 1.0 EcoBoost (Fox).

Pre-purchase checklist

Diagnostics
  • Pressure-test the cooling system and check for a slow pressure drop with no visible external leak; pull the dipstick and filler cap and check for a milky emulsion; a workshop can confirm with a UV-dye coolant trace or a borescope inspection of the cylinder head for micro-cracks
Documents
  • Confirm the exact engine and body style (3-door dropped spring 2022) from the registration document, not the advert wording
