  • ABS module (HECU) internal brake-fluid leak — fire risk

    Recall #: 23V-652

    2011–2017 Kia Rio: the ABS module (HECU) can leak brake fluid internally and short-circuit, increasing the risk of an engine-compartment fire while driving or parked. NHTSA advised parking affected vehicles outside pending repair.

    Official remedy: Dealers replace the HECU fuse free of charge.
