  • Takata airbag inflator recall

Certain BMW vehicles were equipped with Takata-manufactured airbag inflators that can degrade over time and rupture during deployment, posing a risk of metal fragments injuring occupants. This is part of the industry-wide Takata inflator recall.

Official remedy: Dealers replace the affected airbag inflator(s) or airbag module(s) free of charge.

  • N63 engine compartment fire risk

Certain BMW models with the N63 twin-turbo V8 engine may develop fuel or oil leaks from supply lines routed close to hot engine components, which can increase the risk of an engine compartment fire.

Official remedy: Dealers replace or reinforce the affected supply lines and fittings under the manufacturer's Consumer Assistance Program / recall campaign.
