The T5 Transporter/Caravelle/Multivan range is built on diesel: the signature 2.5 TDI R5 and 1.9 TDI PD units of the pre-facelift era give way after the September 2009 GP facelift to the EA189 2.0 TDI common-rail (including the CFCA BiTDI), while petrol runs from the base 2.0 MPI 8v (AXA) and the pre-facelift VR6 3.2 (BKK) to the post-facelift EA888 Gen-2 2.0 TSI (CJKA/CJKB), across FWD and 4Motion AWD with 5/6-speed manual, 6-speed Tiptronic and the 7-speed DQ500 DSG. Every engine code, family, facelift split and market (incl. RU) checks out against the record — nothing removed or narrowed.
