The front-wheel-drive Touran 1T catalogue runs from naturally-aspirated EA111 1.6 MPI and early 1.6/2.0 FSI petrols through the forced-induction EA111 1.2 and 1.4 TSI units, with the pre-facelift twincharger 1.4 TSI on the 6-speed wet DQ250 (not the 7-speed dry DQ200). Diesels are EU-market: EA188 PD units (1.9 TDI from launch, 2.0 TDI PD from 2004) give way after the 2010 facelift to the EA189 common-rail 1.6 and 2.0 TDI family. The Russian lineup is petrol-only (1.6 MPI, 1.4 TSI).
