The W222 S-Class is the direct successor to the W221, carrying forward the same spine engine families: the M276 direct-injection V6 (S 400, S 450), the M278 twin-turbo V8 (S 500), and the OM642 V6 diesel (S 350 BlueTEC, S 350d). All three are already modelled in earlier generations, so this corpus adds no new occurrence patterns — those resolve onto W222 configurations at the engine level. The 2017 facelift introduced the 9G-Tronic across most variants and the S 350d/S 450 nameplates. AMG S 63 and S 65, as well as hybrid trims, are outside the modelled spine.
