Overview
Community orientation

The W220 S-Class shares both its spine petrol engines with generations already in the graph: the M112 V6 (S 280, S 320 and the facelift S 350) and the M113 V8 (S 430, S 500). It therefore adds no new occurrence patterns of its own; the M112 and M113 patterns resolve onto this generation's configurations at the engine level. The V12 and CDI diesel trims are out of this spine and are not covered here. See the per-configuration breakdown for which patterns apply to which build window. Community orientation only, not a reliability rating or a purchase recommendation.

Filtered: M112 · 2.6–3.7L V6 (M112).

Pre-purchase checklist

Cold start
  • Start the engine cold and listen for a timing-chain rattle in the first seconds
Diagnostics
  • Scan stored DTCs and check live fuel/ignition/boost data before the test drive
