Overview
Community orientation

The W210 E-Class shares its spine petrol engines with generations already in the graph: the M112 V6 (E 240, E 280, E 320 after the 1997 V6 switch) and the M113 V8 (E 430). It therefore adds no new occurrence patterns of its own; those patterns resolve onto this generation's configurations at the engine level. The pre-1997 straight-six petrol, the four-cylinder petrols and the diesels are out of this spine and are not covered here. See the per-configuration breakdown for which patterns apply to which build window. Community orientation only, not a reliability rating or a purchase recommendation.

Filtered: M112 · 2.6–3.7L V6 (M112).

Pre-purchase checklist

Cold start
  • Start the engine cold and listen for a timing-chain rattle in the first seconds
Diagnostics
  • Scan stored DTCs and check live fuel/ignition/boost data before the test drive
