The W245 B-Class shares both its engine families with the W169 A-Class it is built alongside: the M266 petrol four-cylinder (B 150, B 160, B 170, B 180, B 200 and the B 200 Turbo) and the OM640 2.0-litre diesel (B 180 CDI, B 200 CDI). It therefore adds no new occurrence patterns of its own; those patterns resolve onto this generation's configurations at the engine level.
