Hyundai Tucson JM
The Tucson JM arrived in 2004 as Hyundai's first compact crossover. Korean specification records all-wheel drive, a 2.0-litre diesel and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic; a technical catalogue identifies this application as D4EA.
On a JM, it is important to separate the character of an older diesel from a specific fault. With loss of pull, smoke or an exhaust-gas-recirculation code, read the data and check the air path and EGR before assigning injectors or a turbocharger.
