Ford Galaxy Galaxy Mk2 / CD340 (2006–2015) GALAXY-MK2
2006–2015 · 2 documented configurations · EU, RU
Overview
Local preview — inspection orientation
The second-generation Galaxy (2006-2015) shared its CD340 platform with the S-Max Mk1 and, like it, was locally assembled by Ford Sollers at Elabuga for the Russian market before RU sales ended in mid-2015.
Its 2.0 Duratorq TDCi diesel is named in the same UK DVSA cylinder-head-crack recall confirmed for the Mondeo/S-Max of this era, so a VIN recall check and cylinder-head inspection are the relevant route; the 2010-facelift EcoBoost petrol needs its own service-history check instead.
Assessing an individual example means confirming engine and assembly market from the documents and VIN before applying either check.

Pre-purchase checklist
Diagnostics
- ☐Check whether the revised ECM calibration (the official remedy for this recall — improves overheat detection and adds an instrument-cluster warning plus an engine de-rate strategy) has already been installed on this specific car via its service history/recall status, and inspect the oil sump area for any sign of a prior overheating-related repair
Documents
- ☐Confirm from the documents whether this Galaxy is an EU-built or Elabuga-assembled (RU, c. 2012-2015) car, and check its own DVSA recall status by VIN for the cylinder-head-crack campaign
